Wonderword
Wonderword is a variation on the standard Wordsearch puzzle created by Canadian author the late Jo Ouellet. Following Jo's death the puzzles were taken on by her son David Q. Ouellet.
What Are Wonderwords?
A Wonderword puzzle is effectively the same as a normal word search, the difference being that when all the words have been found the remaining letters will form a target word - the "wonder word".Solving Wonderword puzzle is exactly the same as solving a standard Wordsearch. Thus solving a Wonderword puzzle is no more difficult than solving a standard version. Setting one, however is much more tricky. All letters in the grid must be used, there must be a unique solution and - usually - the words involved are themed. It is this elegance that gives the Wonderword its popularity rather than any fiendish difficulty.
Wonderword puzzles are today syndicated by Universal Press Services (UPS) and appear in over 200 newspapers worldwide.
