Farkle
Variants
There are numerous variations of the
basic game of Farkle, most of which involve the
scoring. Here are a few of the most common ones:
Special Scores
As well as the scores listed on
the
score table, many
people give special scores for four, five and six of a
kind. For example four of a kind might be worth 1000,
five of a kind 2000 and six of a kind 3000. These
scores are sometimes increased for multiple ones.
500 In
A common rule is to say that a player's
score for the round cannot be collected until they have
reached at least 500 points that round. This is,
presumably, to prevent overly safe play.
All Out Bonus
This variation gives a bonus
every time a player uses all six dice and then decides
to continue. The first time this happens in a round the
player scores an additional 100 points, the second time
in the same round 200 points. Then either
300,400,500 etc or 400,800,1600 etc depending on the
version being played. If the player farkles then these
bonus points are lost along with the other points
scored in the round.
